Appropriations

There are three types of appropriations requests Members can submit to the House Appropriations Committee:

  • Community Project Funding (CPF) Requests: A request to direct funds to a specific state or local government or eligible non-profit recipient.
  • Programmatic Requests: A request for general support or funding for a program.
  • Language Requests: A request to add language to the bill or report to accompany the bill which generally does not include dollar amounts.

My office is currently accepting FY26 programmatic and language appropriations requests, as well as Community Project Funding requests.

All submissions must be received by Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11:59 pm PT in order to be considered.

My team has prepared this resource guide on how to request Community Project Funding through the annual appropriations process. Our hope is that this guide will demystify the process and provide you with the best information available in a clear and concise format. We’re committed to creating a fair and equitable process that will meet the needs of our diverse communities.

Per the House Appropriation Committee, Members will once again be able to submit up to 15 projects to the Committee, and that eligibility criteria for projects would remain similar to the FY25 guidance. You can view the Committee guidelines here.

If you have any questions about how to make a submission or whether your requests are eligible or not, please contact our office at Randall.Approps@mail.house.gov with any questions.
