Statement: Congresswoman Randall Votes NO on Republicans’ Rescission Package
Washington, DC - Congresswoman Emily Randall released the following statement after voting NO on the Republicans’ Rescission Package.
“In the rural parts of my district, public broadcasting isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline." Said Congresswoman Randall. "In places where broadband isn’t available, families rely on public radio for weather alerts, local news, and educational programming. In communities like Chehalis, Aberdeen, and Hoquiam, KBTC is more than just a TV station, it's the only source of local public broadcasting available. It’s how kids learn, how parents stay informed, and how neighbors hear about issues that impact their daily lives. This bill puts all of that at risk. Cutting funding for public broadcasting means turning our backs on the families who depend on it most, which is why I voted no.”
