Congresswoman Randall Appointed to Highly Influential House Committee on Natural Resources and Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

January 14, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC—Today, House Leadership announced Congresswoman Emily Randall’s appointment to serve on the House Committee on Natural Resources and Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

“I’m so excited to join the House Committee on Natural Resources and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform,” said Congresswoman Randall. “I’m extremely grateful to Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the Steering and Policy Committee for the opportunity to serve on these influential committees.

“I have the honor of representing one of the most beautiful districts in the nation. From the Hoh Rainforest to Vaughn Bay, Port Townsend to Grays Harbor — Washington’s 6th Congressional District and its diverse communities know the importance of combating the climate crisis, protecting public and Tribal lands and waters, supporting fisheries and wildlife recovery, and fighting for environmental justice. I’m thrilled for the opportunity to serve on a committee that will directly impact Washington’s 6th District.

“As a member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, I’m committed to uplifting the voices of my neighbors in Washington’s 6th District. In the 119th Congress, Oversight Committee Democrats will face an important task: fighting to make life easier for everyday Americans and holding the incoming administration accountable. I’ll lead by example and always keep the issues most important to working people in my community front and center.

“We must protect the rights of women and children, LGBTQ+ folks and people of color, teachers and nurses and crabbers and farmers – all our communities – against the incoming president’s harmful, corrupt, and hateful agenda, as outlined in Project 2025. I look forward to addressing the challenges our government institutions face and making sure that American taxpayers are being represented by individuals who are working efficiently, intentionally, and transparently for the good of our country."
