Congresswoman Randall Announces Ashley Jones as Special Guest for Congressional Joint Address
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Emily Randall (WA-06) announced Ashley Jones, LM, CPM, MSM, the Executive Director of True North Birth Center and President of the Washington Association of Birth Centers, as her special guest to President Donald Trump’s first Joint Address to Congress on March 4, 2025.
Congresswoman Randall released the following statement:
“President Trump has made it clear that he has no desire to protect access to health care. From installing science-denier RFK Jr. and TV personality Dr. Oz in top health positions, to efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and attempts to end abortion care and Medicaid as we know it, the wellbeing of millions of Americans is at risk. I’m especially concerned about those who are pregnant and in need of essential services in rural communities like mine.
“I’m grateful to be joined by Ashley Jones, a health care advocate and provider from our very own community, as we make it clear to the President: keep your hands off our health care.
“Ensuring access to quality health care in rural communities like ours is not just a matter of convenience—it's a matter of equity, dignity, and survival. We must prioritize the unique needs of these areas, where distance and limited resources can mean the difference between life and death, especially for pregnant people. Ashley and her team provide a vital resource to the people of Washington’s 6th, often serving as a bridge between our most rural neighbors and the vital pre- and postnatal health care they need. I will continue to fight back against this administration's chaotic and cruel attacks on Washingtonians' access to health care.”

About Ashley Jones, LM, CPM, MSM
Ashley Jones LM, CPM, owner of Fly True Midwifery and Executive Director of True North Birth Center, is a military wife (now retired) and mother to four. She began her work in birth in 2011, following her second hospital birth. Initially, Ashley entered birth work as a doula, but quickly realized her goal was to become a midwife. Ashley began birth assisting in 2012, where she attended her first out of hospital births. In August 2014, Ashley was accepted to the bachelor's program with Midwives College of Utah. Ashley graduated with honors in November 2017, and began her master program in January 2018. Ashley graduated with honors, receiving her Masters of Science in Midwifery in August 2019. Her thesis, original research on herself developed holistic protocol for Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy, is in the process of being published. She speaks 1-2 times per year at various midwifery conferences on the topic. In addition, Ashley is the Ethical Review Board Chair and Adjunct Faculty with Midwives College of Utah, teaching Principles of Evidence-Informed Practices.
